    This solar panel has a power output of 40W and is highly efficient and waterproof. It is designed for permanent outdoor use and is ideal for charging 12V batteries to power various applications such as camper vans, motorhomes, boats, sheds, farms, and remote applications like telecommunications or monitoring equipment. Additionally, it can provide direct power for applications not sensitive to voltage/current changes, such as electric motors or pumps.


    The panel comes with 5 meters of special solar cable that can operate at high roof temperatures with minimal power loss. It is also equipped with a pair of male/female MC4 connectors crimped at the end of the cable for easy connection to other solar panels, extension leads, or an existing system. If needed, the MC4 connectors can be removed for connection to the screw terminals of a solar charge controller.

    The monocrystalline solar cells and aluminum frame are durable and efficient, providing consistent power for many years. The waterproof design allows for use in all weather conditions. This panel features innovative 5 busbar solar cells, which are more efficient than 2, 3, or 4 busbar solar cells found in most other panels and can extract more power from the same surface area, resulting in a smaller overall panel, ideal for limited space applications. These solar cells are also suitable for warmer climates, functioning well in high ambient temperatures. 

    The kit includes a 10A 12V/24V Photonic Universe solar charge controller, designed to protect batteries during charging with automatic cutoff to prevent overcharging and deep discharge. The controller uses PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) technology to increase charge acceptance and prolong battery life, and can recover some lost battery capacity. This controller also prevents reverse current at night, along with providing other protection functions such as overcharge/discharge, overload, short circuit, and overheating. Additional features of this controller include LED indicators, a temperature sensor, and a load "on/off" button.

    One of the significant advantages of this powerful 10A controller is its small size, measuring only 14x7cm. The controller is compatible with sealed, gel, and flooded batteries (default is sealed) or a user-defined battery type (note that the battery type can only be changed from the default using specified communication methods). The controller can handle up to 160W (12V battery) / 320W (24V battery) of solar power input, making it a great fit for small or medium solar PV systems with a battery and load, such as in a campervan or boat.


    The solar charge controller features advanced communication technology that allows users to monitor and program parameters using various methods:


    1) Connect the controller to a remote meter MT50 with an LCD screen to view system performance information and manually adjust parameters and load settings.


    2) Connect the controller to a Wi-Fi module to establish a Wi-Fi network that your mobile phone or tablet can connect to, allowing you to monitor or adjust charging parameters and controller settings using a free mobile app - Solar Station Monitor (available for Android and iOS users).


    3) Use an RJ45 to USB cable to connect the controller directly to your PC/laptop, where you can monitor and adjust parameters and settings using a free computer program - Solar Station Monitor (compatible with Windows-based PCs and laptops only).


    By utilizing one of these communication methods, users can access various charging parameters such as voltage, current (separately for solar panel/load), battery state of charge, accumulated charge and discharge energy, min/max voltage, and other information. If needed, users can also modify the battery type and capacity, set charging volts for different charging stages, specify the duration of each charging stage, create a user-defined battery type with specific charging parameters, personalize the 'load' settings (e.g., set timers for lighting, fans, pumps), and more.


    In addition to the built-in temperature sensor, the controller has terminals for attaching a remote temperature sensor, which can be connected directly to the battery to measure the battery temperature more accurately and optimize the charging process.

    Warranty:

    This product is covered by a 1-year warranty provided by Photonic Universe, including a 1-year warranty for the solar charge controller and a 1-year workmanship warranty for the solar panel. Defective items will be repaired or replaced at our discretion. Additionally, solar cells are guaranteed to produce at least 90% of nominal power in 10 years after purchase and at least 80% of nominal power in 25 years after purchase. This warranty is provided by the manufacturer of the solar cells.


    Installation:

    Electrical connection: The solar charge controller included in this kit is supplied with a detailed user manual containing a wiring diagram and installation/operation instructions. Please read the full user manual before beginning the installation.


    Fitting: The solar panel in this kit can be fitted to a flat roof using metal brackets, plastic brackets, or other methods. For a full range of brackets, please visit the mounting accessories category in our online shop. The solar charge controller in this kit is not waterproof and should be mounted indoors.
