Product Details
This solar charge controller is rated at 20A and can be used with both 12V and 24V systems. It comes with an LCD display, adjustable charging settings, and energy statistics. The controller offers advanced monitoring and programming features, allowing users to have full control over the charging process and the ability to adjust various charging parameters and load work modes. Unlike simpler controllers that are limited to factory-defined parameters, this controller allows users to program their own system settings. It utilizes PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) technology to increase the charge acceptance of the battery and extend its life.
The PWM technology integrated into this charge controller can help recover some lost battery capacity. It is equipped with a range of electronic protection functions, including preventing reverse current at night, automatic cutoff to avoid over-charging and deep discharge, and protection against over-heating, over-load, short circuit, and reverse polarity.
Compatibility-wise, this controller can handle solar panels with a combined power of up to 320W (for 12V battery systems) or 640W (for 24V battery systems), making it suitable for small or medium solar charging systems. The wide solar input voltage range of up to 48V ensures compatibility even with on-grid solar modules with voltages higher than 12V or 24V. However, for optimal efficiency, it's best to use solar panels with voltages at maximum power only slightly higher than the battery voltage (e.g., 17V-18V solar panels for charging 12V batteries).
This solar charge controller is designed for use with a single battery or battery bank (gel, sealed, or flooded) with a voltage of 12V or 24V. The controller automatically determines the working mode. Additional features include an LCD display with multi-level menu operation, user-friendly interface with 4 multifunctional buttons, LED indicators, built-in temperature sensor, and access to real-time solar panel and battery performance, including voltage, current, battery state of charge, and temperature.
The controller also features an energy statistics counter, which displays the accumulated daily and monthly charge, allowing for comparisons of solar panel performance at different periods. The load work mode can be programmed with a timer if needed, for example, to set on/off timers for lighting. It also offers the option to create a personalized, "user-defined" battery type with parameters specific to your battery.
Furthermore, the model includes advanced communication technology, allowing the user to monitor and program parameters for the solar charge controller through various methods:
1) Connection to a remote meter MT50 with an LCD screen, which displays system performance information and allows manual adjustment of parameters and load settings.
2) Connection to a Wi-Fi module to create a Wi-Fi network, allowing monitoring or adjustment of charging parameters and controller settings through the Solar Station Monitor mobile app (compatible with Android-based phones and tablets only).
3) Use of an RJ45 to USB cable to connect the controller directly to a PC or laptop, enabling monitoring and adjustment of parameters and settings through the Solar Station computer program (compatible with Windows-based PCs and laptops only).
Using one of these communication methods, the user will have access to various charging parameters, such as voltage, current (separately for solar panel/load), battery state of charge, accumulated charge and discharge energy, min/max voltage, and other information. If necessary, the user can also adjust the battery type and capacity, set charging volts for different charging stages, specify the duration of each charging stage, create a user-defined battery type with charging parameters specific to their battery, personalize the 'load' settings (e.g., set timers for lighting, fans, pumps), and more.
In addition to the built-in temperature sensor, the controller has terminals for connecting a remote temperature sensor, which can be attached directly to the battery to measure the battery temperature more precisely and optimize the charging process.
