Mercury Quicksilver Premium Gear Lube is engineered to provide excellent lubrication to lower gears in high or low horsepower engines under varying operating. Note: not to be mixed with Quicksilver High Performance Gear Lube or any other gear lubricants. It is always strongly recommended that the Gear Oil be checked and replaced after every 50 hours of salt water use and before storage at the end of each season to prevent damage to the gearbox through water ingress through the propeller seal, should it have failed during the season. Mercury Marine gear lube out performs automotive gear oil in marine applications because of its specialized additive package designed for marine gear cases. Continued use of this gear case lubricant will: Provide maximum protection against excessive wear - even in the presence of water. Prevent corrosion and pitting Help extend gear life Mercury Premium SAE 80W90 Gear Lube is recommended for lower units for outboards below 75hp.
